The Pittsburgh Land Bank aims to repurpose vacant, abandoned and deteriorated properties back to productive use. By acquiring blighted properties and putting them back on the market with clear, insurable titles, we aim to revitalize neighborhoods and strengthen the City of Pittsburgh’s tax base to support socially and economically diverse communities.
Acquisition and Disposition of properties comes with a host of challenges. In some cases, the PLB can stabilize and maintain properties before they are purchased. In others, the PLB must rely on the expertise and knowledge of property maintenance and renovation contractors. In all cases, the PLB will need strong partnerships with contractor involvement.
